We’re just as much of a fan of giving thoughtful gifts as we are getting all our holiday presents done in one day. And, of course, we love our little DIY projects! With the holidays around the corner, we thought, why not spend a day in the comforts of your home to make all the presents and stocking stuffers you’ll need for everyone on your list? So, with the help of our Esthetics experts across the hall, we’ve tried and tested six great, natural (and inexpensive!) holiday spa recipes to keep you and all your friends and family happily moisturized, relaxed, and smelling divinely delicious all throughout this chilly Winter season!
Here are a couple of quick scrubs that you can literally make during one commercial break!
½ cup sea salt
1 tbsp cocoa powder
½ cup olive oil (adjust for preferred consistency)
10 drops peppermint essential oil
a bowl and stirring stick
glass jars (we doubled the recipe to fit this adorable bubble jar)
step 1: mix mix mix!
step 2: sniff product to awake your senses (at least that’s what I would do..)
step 3: divide into glass jars
step 4: (optional) add a label and you’ve got a quick and easy gift!
Instructions: scrub your feet with the mixture (don’t forget to give your heels some love!) and rinse. For baby soft feet, slather your feet with foot cream and pull on some fuzzy socks right before bed!
To make the ultimate soft feet gift package… pick up a pair of fuzzy socks, your fave foot cream (I recommend L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Foot Cream or Burt’s Bees Foot Creme), a couple of fun, holiday polishes, and some mint chocolate!
Instructions: Before use, stir contents with a spoon. Apply mixture to bath mitt and massage onto body. Rinse (and try not to eat yourself because you smell so delicious.. and trust me, you will smell goooooooood. And so will your bathroom.)
(Please note that these scrubs may not be suitable for those with super sensitive skin. As with all our homemade products, always conduct a patch test on a small area of your skin!)
There! Easy and thoughtful. More to come soon.
